Tata BP Solar is hopeful to build new plants with a combined capacity of more than 100 MW in 2012, against 57 MW capacity it built this year.
The company’s CEO K Subramanya said they had already completed nine out of the 10 projects planned.
The Rs 906 crore-turnover company, a major engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) player, had won in 2010 contracts to build ten solar power plants under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM).
The government had awarded solar projects with a total capacity of 804 MW under the first batch of JNNSM, which are at various stages of completion.
Under the batch II, 350 MW new projects were awarded in the latest round of bidding early this month. Consequently, EPC players such as Tata BP and Moser Baer are pitching for contracts from developers who won these bids.
